Acclaimed Hungarian pianist Andrs Schiff returns to Lincoln Center's Great Performers for three all-Mozart concerts at Alice Tully Hall beginning tonight.
But Schiff isn't appearing only as a pianist — he has brought with him a chamber orchestra of European musicians he has assembled and directs himself. The group, called Cappella Andrea Barca (that's Italian for "Andrįs Schiff"), performs three programs of Mozart — featuring Piano Concertos Nos. 9 (the "Jeunehomme"), 22-25 and 27 as well as the Symphonies Nos. 36 ("Linz"), 40 and 41 ("Jupiter") — tonight and tomorrow at 8 pm and on Sunday, October 22 at 2 pm.
