A new recording of Mascagni's Cavalleria rusticana starring blind crossover tenor Andrea Bocelli and a disc of Schumann piano works by 26-year-old Jonathan Biss are the new arrivals on this week's Billboard classical chart.

The latest Cavalleria stars Bocelli as Turiddu, with soprano Paoletta Marrocu as Santuzza and baritone Stefano Antonucci as Alfio; Steven Mercurio conducts the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro Massimo Bellini of Catania, Sicily. This Decca Classics release makes its chart debut at no. 6.

A Decca recording of Leoncavallo's Pagliacci (Cavalleria's traditional companion on double-bills), also starring Bocelli with Mercurio and the Campania company, was released last December.

Arriving at no. 22 is Biss's new release on EMI Classics, which features three of Robert Schumann's major piano works: the Fantasie, Arabeske and Kreisleriana.

Returning to the Billboard classical chart this week are My Magic Flute (no. 16), a collection of Mozart arrangements featuring flutist James Galway and his wife Jeanne, and Janine Jansen's recording of the Mendelssohn and Bruch Violin Concertos (no. 25) with Riccardo Cahilly conducting the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. (Chailly and the Gewandhaus are on a U.S. tour together this week.)

Cellist Yo-Yo Ma's Appassionato is still at no. 1 after seven weeks; following in second and third place, respectively, are Sting's DVD/CD set The Journey and the Labyrinth: The Music of John Dowland and his original Dowland disc released last fall, Songs From the Labyrinth.

Soprano Anna Netrebko's The Russian Album has climbed a notch to no. 4, trading places with Joshua Bell's Voice of the Violin. The late Lorraine Hunt Lieberson's recording of her husband's Neruda Songs, recorded in concert with the Boston Symphony under James Levine, is at no. 7 in its tenth week on the chart. No Boundaries by The 5 Browns, with 47 weeks on the chart and counting, sits at no. 8, followed by pianist Lang Lang's Dragon Songs and Jean-Yves Thibaudet's collection of piano arrangements, Aria, Opera Without Words.

The latest Billboard classical crossover chart shows little change from previous weeks: Josh Groban's Awake is still at no. 1, with three titles each by Il Divo and Andrea Bocelli in the top ten, along with Juanita Bynum and Jonathan Butler's Gospel Goes Classical, Sarah Brightman's Diva: The Singles Collection, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Showtime!.
